Green tea is a kind of tea that is made from Camellia sinensis. The most loved teas, green tea and black tea originate from the same plant, but the way they are made is a little different. Green tea is more popular than black tea in Korea. Green tea became even more popular after it was revealed that famous K-pop girl groups drank green tea to reduce swelling and lose weight.
The major regions of green tea production in Korea are Boseong in Jeolla province, Hadong in Gyeongsang province and Jeju island. Our green tea is made with wild tea from Hadong. Hadong is the first area where green tea trees were planted in Korea. And It is a good place to grow green tea because of its geographical characteristics. Also Hadong continues to produce tea using time-honored traditional methods. As a result, it produces particularly high-grade teas and has been designated Globally Important Agricultural Heritage Systems(GIAHS) in 2018.
